Posh Bingo

Therefore it is a refreshing piece of news that we have received that even though a complaint has been made against yet another online bingo site that the ASA have actually not upheld it and no formal action against Posh Bingo will be made.  The complaint made against Posh Bingo was that their television advertising campaign to promote a special £20 freeplay offer for new account holders who deposit £10 was misleading and not clear that £20 would have to be played through before a withdrawal could be made.  The ASA luckily found in favour of Posh Bingo, and that although the complainant had a valid point which was acknowledged, that in the online bingo sites favour was that they had added the statement ‘Terms & conditions apply’.  This was felt sufficient to alert any prospective players that there were special conditions attached to the offer, also that the term ‘freeplay’ had been used (unlike another site, Bingo Hero who recently fell foul of the ASA which had used the term ‘£15 FREE!).

It is nice to see that the ASA is not going to side with every complaint that is made, proving that their decisions are treated individually and each case is looked at carefully.  There have been some reports that there is a general feeling of the ASA coming down harder on online bingo sites, therefore it is a relief to report that there is no particular bias on their part in the decisions that are made.
